Conference vanue: Canterburry
Program:
Conference of the Sonnenberg Association of Great Britain
We will return for our 2026 conference to the attractive University of Kent. The theme is “Kent, the Garden of England.” Two days of excursions are planned, along with sessions covering a wide range of topics, including local literary connections, architectural change in Canterbury, a tasting of Kent wines, as well as further sessions addressing current developments and issues in the region.
There will be whispered interpretation from English into German by Martina Valesova, who has already translated successfully for us at two previous conferences. In addition, there will be an opening party and an international evening featuring contributions from participants.
Canterbury itself is a beautiful city with a magnificent cathedral and a Roman museum. Free parking is available at the university, and in the evenings we will once again be able to use the luxurious “Senior Common Room.”
Estimated Costs:
£520 for a single room with en-suite bathroom
£470 for a double room with en-suite bathroom
£480 for excellent basic rooms (4 people sharing 2 bathrooms)
Special rates are available for students and participants from Central and Eastern Europe.
